Last summer, Bushwick Daily had a blast covering the 4Knots Festival, an event we deemed both “sweaty” and “awesome,” which is always a spectacular combo
It’s that time again! America’s Birthday; another great reason to have outdoor shows, BBQ everything in sight and celebrate for the entire four days whether or not you have any patriotism in your bones
Last year we fawned over local festival Out In The Streets, which spanned two fantastic days of music, food, art, drinks, dancing, hula hooping (see this video for a demonstration by yours truly), and overall good vibes
Sh-sh-shaking, I’m

This week’s Friday First features Brooklyn electro pop duo Candide and an exclusive stream of their first EP Don’t You Go, out June 24th on Zappruder Records
Just hangin’ at The Neverlands. “Because it’s Northside!” More or less, the phrase became a mantra of sorts over this past weekend, when the multi-venue Northside Festival enveloped Brooklyn for the sixth year in a row. As I, Loren, your trusty narrator, chased bands around Williamsburg, Bushwick, and everywhere in between, the sentence was repeated […]
Still burnt out from Governors Ball last weekend? Sorry, kids; it’s time to do it all again. Starting Thursday, the summer festival fun continues with Northside, a magical, musical journey that traverses all of north Brooklyn, plus the wilds of your imagination. It’s a neverending story of awesome shows, both official and unofficial, so no […]
It seems like there have been a lot of Gemini birthdays in Bushwick lately, and many more coming up! Some of the best qualities about these beautiful Air-sign babies is that they represent duality, are versatile, talkative, intellectual, and fun to be around. They provide great company and are lucky to be born in the budding […]
Ex-Cult at The Acheron (All photos by Gustavo Ponce for Bushwick Daily.) Early summer brings its fair share of downpours, but along with these rainy nights comes many an opportunity for good (and often wild) times. Case in point: Ex-Cult at the Acheron. When these ruthless Memphis punks hit Brooklyn armed with boundless energy and […]
Remember when the Girls took to Bushwick to rage out in a warehouse and (accidentally) smoke crack? Well, that’s not the route we recommend you go this weeken–maybe instead grab a 5-hour energy to get your fix as you hop around art shows by day and hit the rock and roll by night! Not all these shows are tied in with Bushwick Open Studios, but they will all be mega-fun and nothing like the gif above (hopefully?)
Only in New York are we lucky enough to sort through bushels of free shows each weekend
Finally, one of the moments we’ve been waiting for. The Wick, located at 260 Meserole and attached to The Well venue/beer garden, is finally open! And, even better, it’s packed full of good shows now through summer. The massive venue (8,000 square feet in fact) opened in a prime location- on the same block as Main Drag Music’s Bushwick Supply shop and Sweat […]
This week’s Friday First is a triple-whammy, featuring 3 brand new videos from 3 local NYC bands
Man, we are really excited for this year’s Governor’s Ball Music Festival, which will take place from June 6-8 at Randall’s Island
The weekend may be looking thunderstorm-laden, but that means nothing for dedicated show-goers but an excuse to your golashes and fill up on Dark’n’stormies (we recommend Tandem’s). Then hit the wet pavement and bask in some light rain on your way to one of these amazing 9 top concerts of the weekend. We’ve got festivals, free shows, “art spaces” and […]
[contextly_auto_sidebar id=”dN8fROFYJAemosL3KkZKvVIwUAfhxNWH”] While there are still ridiculously cold days, we can all be thankful that spring is (mostly) here and finally we can party outdoors… or continue to hang indoors, thankful we can do so without giant coats. We can potentially start our hangouts earlier and possibly outdoors, and maybe even have a backyard BBQ. […]

This week we’re sharing Halcyon & Surrounding Areas, the new LP from Bushwick locals The Library Is On Fire. The muddled album soars in loud, thrashing songs as well in gentle lo-fi lullabies, contradictory messages of gloom and optimism peeking through the fuzz in bold guitars and and sensual, moody, vocals. Friday First is a weekly column devoted to premiering new music from local, […]
Take a look around, Bushwick

Yikes, our pals at The Wild Honey Pie have sure been busy
Everything seems to be going full speed in life lately. The days are longer, but they go by faster and there’s more to be done. Ferris Bueller said it right when he quipped, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” So, taking heed […]
