Brooklyn Mirage’s VIP Artist Pods For Sale As New Owners Begin Demolishing Venue Structure
Five luxury cabins built as private greenrooms for headlining DJs at the Brooklyn Mirage are now for sale after the East Williamsburg venue’s demolition began this month. The award-winning pods were never used.
Hungarian architecture studio Hello Wood designed and built the PEBL Grand cabins last year as part of an exclusive Artist Village VIP section on the Brooklyn Mirage’s rooftop terrace. Perched high above Brooklyn with the Manhattan skyline as a backdrop, the structures were intended as retreat spaces for world-famous performers between sets at what was planned to be one of New York’s premier outdoor electronic music venues.
The scheduled lineup for the venue’s planned opening included Sara Landry, Peggy Gou, Deadmau5, and The Chainsmokers. None of them ever performed. The venue’s ongoing permit issues meant no show took place and no artist ever set foot inside the custom-built cabins that were designed specifically for their comfort.
Each of the five PEBL Grand cabins features a panoramic window framing views of Manhattan, a full dining area, kitchen counter, and private bathroom. Four units are fitted with bespoke lounge sofas that can be converted to beds for artists needing rest between multi-hour festival sets. The fifth cabin includes a king-size bed. Hello Wood describes them as “futuristic, sculptural objects” engineered for “celebrity-level comfort” and “stylish resting environments.”
Now the cabins are available for immediate purchase, according to Hello Wood. The company is offering all five units for $425,000 ($85,000 per cabin), with an additional 10% discount when purchasing the complete set for a total of $382,500 plus transportation, craning, and installation. Individual cabin purchases are also possible.
Due to the demolition timeline, Hello Wood told Bushwick Daily there is particular urgency over the next two weeks. The company describes the pricing as “half price as an exclusive, limited-time offer” due to the circumstances of the Brooklyn Mirage closure.
A spokesperson for Hello Wood said the cabins could serve multiple purposes beyond their original artist retreat function: “The cabins can absolutely be used in a backyard as a guesthouse, home office, or even yoga studio. We also welcome inquiries from property owners or accommodation developers, since the PEBL Grand cabins could perfectly operate as a resort as well.”
Despite never hosting a single performer, the cabins have accumulated significant international design recognition. They won Platinum at the Rome Design Awards 2025 in the Mobile Homes category and Gold at the International Design Awards 2025 for Architecture Project Development in Hospitality. Italian design publication Domusweb named them “the most sensational mini house of 2025.”
Hello Wood, headquartered in Budapest, has built a reputation for sustainable wood construction with projects completed across Europe and North America. Beyond architectural installations, the firm runs DIY team-building workshops, children’s programs, summer schools, and architecture festivals. Their client base includes what they describe as “design-savvy individuals, forward-thinking businesses, and innovative local governments.”
The Brooklyn Mirage saga stretched across most of 2025 with a pattern of cancellations that left ticket-holders repeatedly disappointed. Brooklyn Magazine reporter Michael Gonik documented shows scrapped in May, more cancelled in July, and additional August dates including Deadmau5 and The Chainsmokers dropped from the calendar. The venue never resolved its permit situation with the city.
Demolition was finally approved in early February and is expected to cost approximately $1.5 million, according to Brooklyn Magazine reporting by Scott Enman. The teardown should complete by April or May 2026.
