A 15-story mixed-use building could be coming to the edge of Bedford-Stuyvesant. Permits have been filed for the project at 23 Spencer Street, a lot that sits between Park and Flushing avenues in Brooklyn, according to real estate outlet New York YIMBY, which listed the filing in its August 3 newsletter.
The building would be mixed-use, but the filing does not specify the unit count or the mix. Moses Wertheimer of The Tower is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The site sits near the Flushing Avenue subway station on the G train, the same stretch of Flushing Avenue that runs the border between Bed-Stuy and East Williamsburg.
A permit filing is the paperwork stage, not a groundbreaking. It signals that a developer has formally applied to build. The newsletter does not specify what the finished building would hold, how many apartments, whether any would be income-restricted, or when construction might start.
