If you haven’t been to an Out in the Streets festival, this should be your year. The two-day music fest has been a Bushwick summer staple for eight years now, always bringing together our favorite local acts and some newcomers to get us dancing.
This year, the fest takes place over July 15 and 16 in a brand new location: The Well. Festivalgoers can expect to find something to do both inside and outside the cavernous space which offers the best beer selection in possibly all of Brooklyn. Organizers anticipate that “this unique historical location will make the event a hugely memorable experience.”
Day one of Out in the Streets is anchored by headliner Caveman, a new-wavey quintet based in Brooklyn. Here’s a creepy video for their song “In the City” starring Julia Stiles:
Day two will be headlined by A Place to Bury Strangers, the loud, Brooklyn-based post-punk outfit that was once described as “the most ear-shatteringly loud garage/shoegaze band you’ll ever hear” by The Washington Post.
