It’s that time of the week again! Drop everything and get down to one of our favorite hangouts around the Morgan L stop.

Cape House

Happy Hour: 4pm – 7pm weekdays

Cape House is definitely on the cheesy side of Brooklyn establishments, and I’m totally into it. Helming the divide between Knickerbocker Street and Morgan Avenue, this clam shack isn’t the most affordable destination in the running, but their happy hour includes $1 oysters which are always in season in my world (even if they’re not in the real world). After a drink or two, I’m even more likely to fanatically embrace the risk.

If springing for their $18 New England Fish & Chips isn’t in your Friday-night agenda, maybe you can get into their $10 burger and beer special. If you’re just tagging along for the company, they have $5 well drinks and $1 off draft on the menu from 4-7.

Our Wicked Lady

Happy Hour: 4pm – 7pm weekdays

Cave vibes and metal shows are my inherent associations with Our Wicked Lady, that lives just up the block, but this bar and show space is easy on the eyes (and ears) in the daylight too.

Their rooftop is the scene of a variety of summer activities, including movie nights and Drunk Yoga Thursday (something that speaks to me on a spiritual level). So grab a $5 draft, $5 well drink or $8 glass of wine during happy hour before their nightly lineup gets going – earplugs are a plus if you’re sticking around.

Stumble in on the right night and you may even find a music legend like Quantic spinning records downstairs to a near-empty room.

The Narrows

Happy Hour: 5pm – 8pm everyday

For all the foliage-deprived readers out there, The Narrows backyard is easily the dreamiest of the Morgan L bar bunch. This low-key hideaway, located at 1843 Flushing Avenue, is the perfect place to meet up with a friend or two and get your greenery fix in while sipping a $1 off beer or well drink in their prolific backyard (by New York standards anyway).

This little spot is cash only but their $10 burger and Bud combo makes it hard to hold anything against them. Cheap food and a view? Sounds like happiness to me.

Yours Sincerely

Happy Hour: 5pm – 8pm everyday

Like the previous destination, Yours Sincerely is a near-undistinguished front among its neighboring bars.

I busted in the door at 41 Wilson Avenue, minutes before their 8pm happy hour cut off and ordered a $5 old fashioned before blowing through to get on with my real mission – checking out the backyard; I was met with a rude awakening. Not only is their patio closed, but the outdoor space is shut down indefinitely due to a zoning dispute.

Despite the tragic circumstances, Yours Sincerely deservingly makes the cut due to their sensational happy hour, that includes $5 Manhattans, margaritas, and daiquiris, along with $4 beers. By this point you could probably use some shade anyway.
