Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the United States Tennis Association announced Tuesday that 1,000 discounted US Open tickets will go on sale Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 10 a.m. at usopen.org/NYCtickets. New York City residents can buy up to two tickets at $100 each, with no additional fees, on a first-come, first-served basis.
The tickets cover Main Draw matches from Aug. 30 through Sept. 8 and include seats in Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium as well as grounds passes. They are non-transferable, and residency is verified by ZIP code at the time of purchase.
“Today, we are doubling down on that work by making the US Open more affordable for New Yorkers,” Mamdani said in the release. “If the world’s best tennis players are coming to our city, New Yorkers should be able to see them play.”
On resale marketplaces this week, grounds passes with a $65 face value were listed around $363, and premium center-court seats for the men’s final have surpassed $21,000.
“We want as many people as possible to experience tennis and the US Open, and this additional Main Draw ticket access for New Yorkers only strengthens that commitment,” said USTA CEO Craig Tiley. “Access to tennis will always be our priority, and we’re proud to be able to deliver this Main Draw ticket offer to the residents of New York — the home of the US Open for more than 100 years.”
The announcement follows a series of moves by the administration to lower the cost of major city events, including 1,000 affordable tickets to FIFA World Cup 2026 matches, free Broadway tickets for more than 2,000 New York City teens, and a free stream of Game 5 of the NBA Finals on 130 LinkNYC kiosks.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday at usopen.org/NYCtickets.
