According to Brooklyn Fire Proof, Kanye’s film was based on “American Psycho,” and also starred members of the extended Kardashian clan, Jonathan Cheban and Scott Disick. This was also confirmed to us by a bartender of Brooklyn Fire Proof East Cafe who added she couldn’t care less about this “egotistical” rap star. According to In Touch, Kanye shot the video last weekend.

First and foremost, Northside is dominating Williamsburg with a 10-block long art-centric block party, free shows in McCarren Park, and tons of unofficial shows popping up everywhere. But that’s not all that’s going on – there are a plethora of other parties, free shows, and music that you should check out!
Attention North Brooklynites: Northside Festival is finally here! Tomorrow is the beginning of the multi-day music, film, and presentation/panel discussion extravaganza. Sounds a little overwhelming, but as promised, we’ve organized a guide for the 4-day music part of the festival! There will be over 350 artists performing at a range of venues, indoors and out! We’ve selected local favorites as well as some big timers and up and comers! No badge? Don’t sweat it! A lot of the shows are selling tickets at the door, or they are just plain free. Welcome back to a newest edition of ’Listening Party’. You know what to do, it’s simple, just listen, and party along to neoteric sounds from Bushwick, Brooklyn & beyond. This week we bring you Brooklyn’s own Slava with a new video from his ‘Raw Solutions’ release, that, putting it mildly, tells a ‘complicated, dark story of two siblings.
Saying we’ve got a music crush on this band is a massive understatement. Chicago’s Secret Colours is a brand of psychedelic rock that’s equally sexy and zen. This is the music you do work to, hang out to, work out to, chill out to, make love to. Could there really be one band to fill every nook and cranny of our day-to-day musical desires? If you like pretending you’re in the ’60s, we say yes. Read on for a Spotify playlist, video, and photos from their hazy performance at Cake Shop.
When you first listen to Sensual Harassment, one might think they came from the Cosmos. Put together with analogue Star Dust, synths, and mirror balls, meeting Sensual Harassment means a more tethered humble experience.
Bushwick Daily made contact of the music kind at the very hip Wythe Hotel bar recently. “We’ve never been here before,” lead singer Todd Thomas says as he scopes the bar with wide eyes in amazement. “Everyone is so nice,” agreed Mike Sherburn. “We feel we’re going to get kicked out,” they both said at various points, which actually soon manifested into reality. Alien mind trickery, or just good ol’ North Carolina boys who like to make noise?
Wipe your glasses clean of that foggy rain, slip on a raincoat, grab a friend and carve your way to these shows this weekend. Nothing can hold you back, especially not a summer drizzle. To inspire your sense of adventure, we are highlighting the top six music shows this weekend a diligently narrowed down list of the must sees- including free shows, punk rock, a show in a temple, Brisk Iced Tea and more!
Northside Festival is back this summer! In its fourth year, the fest will feature over 350 bands will be playing in over 50 venues in Wiliamsburg, Greenpoint, and beyond. The festival runs from June 13th to 20th, and although it’s known for it’s big name music headliners (music portion June 13-16), it also includes film (17-20), and discussions and presentations (13-14). That’s a lot of activity for one week!
For this week’s Listening Party we thought we’d stay on theme and bring you something related to this weekend’s Bushwick Open Studios. So on that note, this week’s band is Darlings who headline this Friday’s Shea Stadium BOS Launch Party alongside Airwaves, Eula and Listening Party alums Lodro.
