Summer 2016 is upon us. Riis Park Beach Bazaar, the outdoor beach party that celebrated its inaugural season last summer, will return this Memorial Day, May 30th, for another stellar season.

After Brooklyn Night Bazaar got priced out of its Greenpoint location, the party relocated to the historic Jacob Riis Park and quickly became the summer destination. For this season, RPBB announced their lineup of food vendors, including newcomers Samesa from chef siblings Max and Eli Sussman (formerly of Roberta’s and Mile End, respectively). They’ll be serving their take on middle eastern food including creamy beet hummus, lentil pistachio spread, and chicken shawarma; Ed & Bev’s Detroit-style diner will serve a menu that focuses on coney dogs along with familiar Greek and American specialties made from scratch; Whit’s End is a Rockaway mainstay serving Neopolitan wood fired pizzas.

Among the returning vendors are ice cream kings Ample Hills Creamery, local sustainable seafood Wild Feast Foods, Gowanus barbecue favorite Fletcher’s BBQ, and Bolivian street food Bolivian Llama Party.

Other activities will include beach volleyball, shuffleboard, golf, table tennis, and basketball. Shopping on the boardwalk won’t begin until July 4th, but a free weekend concert series and endless treats will keep you busy until then.

The Bushwick Beach Bus will take you there from Pearl’s every weekend (roundtrip is $24.95).

Riis Park Beach Bazaar, open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, 11am-8pm Saturdays and Sundays (and holidays), noon-8pm Monday through Friday.
