Two rooftop bars at Arlo Williamsburg are reopening this spring with major redesigns, new cocktail programs, and expanded event offerings that could shake up the neighborhood’s nightlife scene.
The Water Tower, housed within a reimagined water tower atop the Wythe Avenue hotel, is set to return in late April following what the hotel describes as “an extensive transformation.” Once known for its high-energy atmosphere, the space has been re-envisioned as a sophisticated lounge with refined interiors, bespoke fixtures, and a new cocktail program inspired by the Prohibition era.
Meanwhile, ART Williamsburg — the rooftop’s second bar featuring a 40-foot swimming pool and panoramic views of Manhattan and the East River — will reopen to the public on April 23, with the pool opening May 15. The space features a 23-foot tall mural by Thank You X and will host weekly day parties by Azure, officially relaunching April 26, along with “Arlo After Dark” nightlife events featuring DJs.
“The Water Tower is set to redefine rooftop season with its highly anticipated return this spring,” according to the hotel’s announcement. The venue is “positioned as one of the city’s most distinctive rooftop destinations” with sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline.
The reopenings come as rooftop season begins in earnest, with warmer weather drawing New Yorkers and visitors back to outdoor spaces. Both venues are located at 96 Wythe Avenue, perched high above Brooklyn with views across the East River.
ART Williamsburg will offer pool chairs and cabanas bookable through ResortPass, while The Water Tower promises “new culinary offerings and thoughtfully curated music programming” alongside its Prohibition-era cocktails.
The dual reopening represents a significant addition to Williamsburg’s rooftop scene, potentially drawing visitors to the waterfront area and boosting foot traffic for nearby businesses during the crucial spring and summer months.
