The MTA announced their recent L Train changes to service for the upcoming weeks. There will be no overnight service on the L train between Lorimer St and Broadway Junction for multiple weeknights and full weekends at the end of September and early October.
The MTA is putting final touches on a few different pieces of the L Project, requiring full access to the track or the station platform.
Expect no L service at 8 Av or 14 St-6 Av Stations in October and November, as well. Stay tuned for more updates.
Here’s the changes for the upcoming weeks:
Weeknights
Monday September 23 to Friday September 27
Monday September 30 to Friday October 4
From 11:30 p.m. (depending on your station’s last train time) to 5 a.m. there will be no L service overnight between Lorimer St and Broadway Junction.
From 10 PM to Midnight:
L Trains Operates every 20 minutes between 8 Av and Rockaway Parkway
Overlay operates every 20 minutes between Lorimer St and Rockaway Parkway
From Midnight to 5:00 AM:
L part 1: Operates between 8 Av to Lorimer St every 20 minutes
L part 2: Operates between Broadway Jct (L platform) and Rockaway Parkway every 20 minutes
free shuttle Bus: Operates between Broadway Jct and Lorimer St every 3 minutes.
Alternatives: Consider taking the A or J, as well as the special M service (until 1:30 a.m.).
Weekends
Friday September 27 to Sunday September 29
Friday October 4 to Sunday October 6
From 12:01 a.m. on Saturday to 5 a.m. on Monday there will be no L service between Lorimer St and Broadway Junction.
From 10 PM to Midnight Friday:
L trains operate every 20 minutes between 8 Av and Rockaway Parkway.
Additional Overlay operates every 20 minutes between Lorimer St and Rockaway Parkway.
From 12:01 AM Saturday to 5:00 AM Monday:
L part 1: Operates between 8 Av to Lorimer St every 20 minutes
L part 2: During the day time, the L operates between Broadway Jct (trains will discharge on the J platform) and Rockaway Parkway every 10 minutes. During the overnight times, the L operates every 20 minutes like a normal schedule.
Free Shuttle Bus 1: Operates between Broadway Jct and Myrtle Av
free Shuttle Bus 2: Operates between Myrtle Av and Lorimer St
Alternatives: The A or J trains, as well as the special M service (until 1:30 a.m.).
