Bushwick has no shortage of alcohol and alcohol-related events, but the Swirl & Sip Soiree is poised to bring a classic oenophilic event to our historically beer-soaked hood.

The June 25th event, co-hosted by Hell Phone, Henry’s Wine and Spirit, and The Tasting Club, will offer five wines to taste with a selection of meats and cheeses. Each of the wines will represent a different region in France, one of the undisputed homes of the fermented beverage.

Kevin Charuel and Adrienne Almeda of The Tasting Club guarantee this is the first of many friendly tasting events. They plan on offering specialized tastings twice a month to highlight other spirits if wine is not your thing.

Forty dollars will get you a seat, snacks, and the curated wine experience at Hell Phone, the speakeasy-esque bar at the back of Ange Noir. And if you don’t already know the difference between wines from Bordeaux and wines from Burgundy, come ready to take notes.

À votre santé!

Swirl & Sip will take place from 6pm-8pm, and Hell Phone is located at 247 Varet Street, off of the Morgan Ave stop on the L train. Reserve a spot here.
