A new boozery opens today on the Bushwick-Ridgewood border.
Queens Brewery (QB) at 1539 Covert St. is hosting what it calls a “cold opening” at a new, flagship beer hall this afternoon. And it’s not called “cold” for just any reason: the heating system at the spot isn’t actually working yet.
“Basically, you don’t have to worry about where to put your jacket — just leave it on and grab a cold one! No big deal for us hardened New Yorkers,” QB wrote on its Instagram page.
QB, which also runs Queens Coffee at the same location near the Halsey Street stop on the L train, will serve chili, various sausages, beers, and signatures cocktails with New York-sourced spirits starting at 4 p.m. today. A karaoke party happens at 9 p.m. The first 500 guests also get a free small beer stein with the QB logo.
Until the heat comes on in the converted warehouse, QB is offering happy hour-pricing on all the booze: $7 liters or $4 half-liters of Queens Lager, Queens BLVD, or Queens Blau, or $8 for any of the draft cocktails.
This news comes not long after Bushwick’s Braven Brewery announced in February that it had acquired Lantern Hall and would be transforming the space into a similar brewpub in the near future.
Our Food and Drink Editor, Andrew Tobia, will be going to QB this weekend and writing up a detailed review of the spot for next week, so check back soon!
