An annual community festival is going down this weekend at one of New York City’s most historic homes, which happens to be in Ridgewood.
The New Amsterdam Festival takes places on May 5-6 at the Vander Ende-Onderdonk House at 1820 Flushing Ave., and there will be tons of activities for all ages to enjoy
Adults can check out a flea market, sip some Brooklyn Cider House cider (or Bridge and Tunnel Brewery beer or Enlightenment Wine mead), and play games; kids can get busy with crafts, wobble on Dutch stilts, and have their faces painted.
Everyone can enjoy tours of the historic property, which is the oldest Dutch Colonial stone house in NYC, or play some knockerball, a version of soccer where you wear a huge inflatable bubble and can slam into other people. Performers from House of Yes and The Muse will also be entertaining.
Festivities run from 12-6 p.m. and admission is free.
