The Bushwick Starr announced that Summers at the Starr, its free August programming, returns for the full month, running August 1 through 30 at 419 Eldert Street.
The lineup, according to an email from the theater, includes music, markets, family-friendly activities, and performances. Every event is free and open to all. Registration is required for the Artist Workshops, which are first come, first served.
The Starr described the series as a neighborhood gathering and arts calendar. According to the email, Summers at the Starr brings neighbors together and supports local artists. The email pointed readers to a full schedule but did not include specific dates or the roster of performers and vendors for each event.
The Bushwick Starr, a nonprofit theater at 419 Eldert Street in Bushwick, has expanded its community programming. Earlier this month, the venue hit a $25,000 education fundraising goal that covers teaching artists, supplies, and field trips for students ages 9 to 90.
The theater also used the same email to introduce its 2026-27 season, which it said features new works by Layla Khoshnoudi, Amando Houser and Kedian Keohan, and Tei Blow, alongside its ongoing education and community programs, new work development, and annual events. The Starr did not release specific dates for the season’s productions.
