Officers from the 83rd Precinct and EMS units rushed to the scene. Pomales, who resided in the Linden Street building, was brought to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Prior to the shooting, sources familiar with the investigation said, Pomales had been observed interacting with three unidentified black males in what the NYPD described as a possible drug transaction.
