The first of 5 plays commissioned as part of a Working Theater initiative to tell the stories of New Yorkers from all over the city is complete—and it’s coming to Bushwick.

The Block,” a 90-minute play developed from conversations and interviews with residents of the South Bronx that took place over the course of two years as part of the Five Boroughs One City project, will be performed at the Ridgewood Bushwick Youth Center at 1474 Gates Avenue on Monday, June 13th and Tuesday, June 14th at 8:30pm.

The production, which is about the challenges faced by long time residents of the South Bronx, will feature the work of a talented cast that includes Flaco Navaja, who Bushwick residents may remember from his performance in the web series East Willy B.

The suggested donation for tickets is $25 per seat, but the production is pay what you can—reserve a seat here, and rsvp on Facebook here.

We’ll see you there, Bushwick!
