Local anti-gentrification art collective, Mi Casa No Es Su Casa, protested Bushwick’s rezoning this past Friday with art.
The collective set up a “people’s pad” that was then projected onto the side of a building on the corner of Wyckoff Avenue and Stanhope Street.
There were messages about displacement, rezoning and gentrification illuminated on the side of a building in both English and Spanish:
The collective also announced a rezoning town hall at MayDay Space in Bushwick. Residents who attend will be able to discuss how they feel the rezoning will personally affect them and the neighborhood:
