Waking up to heavy snowfall and slush can put a damper on one’s TGIF good spirits. But hang in there, Bushwick: you can make it through the rest of the day and stay stoic on your evening commute by looking forward to this psychedelic spectacle that makes the most of the northeast’s charming February weather.
The second annual Freezing Man, which brings the best of the playa to House of Yes this Saturday night, is put on by Thunder Gumbo organizers who know how to party and have an extravagant art bus build out to fund (for which this rager is a benefit).
Attendees can expect All The Crazy Party Things: lots of fire dancing, pole dancing, UV blacklight body painted dancing, bonfires,
,
giant monsters puppet/costumes
, “Human Hamster Ball Crowd Surfing”, and
(the craziest Party Thing of them all). Oh, and ritual effigy destruction, of course.
RSVP on Facebook; Tickets are $15-25 beforehand (and can be purchased here) and will be $30 at the door with discounts for those who come in costume or bring a winter coat to donate to the New York Cares Winter Coat Drive; the evening kicks off at 9pm and will run until 5am, and House of Yes is located at 2 Wyckoff Avenue, on the corner of Wyckoff and Jefferson off the Jefferson stop on the L train.
So bust out your winter best, or winter weirdest, and get ready for a long and wild night.
