Conscious Art Festival to Inspire Change Is Tonight

On Friday from 6PM to 2AM Conscious Arts Festival, an arts festival with the purpose to inspire change, will take place at Brooklyn Fire Proof East. Not only will there be a conscious art exhibition from over fifteen artists of all mediums, but there will also be live music between the hours of 8PM and 11PM and various documentaries will also be shown. These documentaries include Jean Marie Offenbacher’s documentary short, which focuses on pre-conflict life in Syria entitled “Tea on the Axis of Evil,” and “My Tribe is Kenya,” a short documentary on Joel Bergner’s mural project with children and artists in one of Africa’s largest slums.

The commission's interpreters cover 13 languages at 68 Brooklyn sites, the nearest at IS 71 on Heyward Street (Yiddish) and IS 93 in Ridgewood (Polish). It does not offer Spanish, which the Board of Elections provides at some poll sites in every borough.
