Get ready for McDonald's, Jefftown! In a newsletter this morning, McDonald's announced they will be opening a new location on the corner of Wyckoff and Willoughby avenues, the former home of Bushwick Flea.

“We’ve long been looking into expanding more into areas such as Bushwick where the community and art scene is so vibrant,” said McDonald's CEO Steve Easterbrook. “Jefftown is the next logical location for people to score a Big Mac.”

And unlike its predecessors on Knickerbocker Avenue and Broadway, this isn’t going to be any ordinary McDonald's. Following in the footsteps of local restaurants and coffee shops like Cape House and Bushwick Public House, the new McDonald's, currently dubbed “McBushwick” will be part restaurant and part performance space. The location will be open 24 hours, but beginning at 9 p.m. every night, the familiar interior will fade away and transform into a performance venue.

“Music has always been very important to the McDonald's family, and we can’t wait to bring the people McBushwick,” said Easterbrook. McDonald's also teased a potential slogan for the new store: “McBushwick: Where the tunes are fresh, the art is innovative, and the chicken nuggets are all made with 100% white meat.”

The fast food giant also announced a 10-year plan, in which they hope to open a neighborhood-themed McDonald's off of every L train stop.

There’s no word yet on an opening date, but those looking to fuse the exciting worlds of music, art, and McDonald's are surely in for a unique treat when McBushwick opens.
