Lovers of happy hour and good vibes, rejoice! Bryan Quackenbush, the mastermind who brought us Old Stanley’s, has opened a new dive on Broadway.

Marco’s is Quackenbush’s latest venture; he partnered with former Roberta’s general manager Greg Goldman to open the new historically-inspired watering hole under the J train.

Quackenbush and Goldman got the idea for the spot’s name after Goldman found and upcycled a vintage bar upstate. “We saw a picture of this old bar from like the 50s, and had to have it in the place,” said Quackenbush. “Then we found out it was built by this old Italian dude named Marco, so that’s what we named the bar.”

Marco’s massive old-school bar has room for 20 stools and graces the bar’s main room. “It’s nice to have this beautiful relic to build the bar around,” said Quackenbush.

As far as drink specials go, Quackenbush’s goal is to make Marco’s a happy hour destination; the bar’s menu has a short cocktail list with discount drafts as cheap as $3 from 4-9 p.m.

Marco’s opened March 29 and its outdoor area is ready just in time for summer. Stop by 1071 Broadway for cheap drinks, jukebox tunes and vintage vibes!
