A nice cup of hot beverage, a warm conversation with a friend, a guilty bite into a pastry… There is something definitely lovable about homey coffee shops that sprung up in Bushwick and Ridgewood in the recent years.

Most of Ridgewood residents swore by a lovely coffee shop and bakery located at 59-02 Catalpa, Norma’s,  Ave, owners of which are, by the way, impatiently waiting to open a wine/beer bistro, Julia’s on 818 Woorward Ave very soon! Others prefer, or at least just as passionately love, Rudy’s Pastry Shop (905 Seneca Avenue) with its wildly delicious cakes baked in the neighborhood since 1934!

The newest edition to the sweet Ridge-world of cupcakes and strong cups of Joe is located at 377 Onderdonk Ave and is called endearingly Buttah. They too bake cupcakes that make your sugar levels go on a rollercoaster ride. Buttah opened just before the Holidays across the street from a church (nearby excellent bar Onderdonk & Sons) and have been swarming our Facebook feeds with images of pure sweet sin. Now, we all love Bushwick’s Milk & Pull (181 Irving Ave), not only for their eggnog latte. The coffee shop has just announced that they are expanding to Ridgewood, namely to Seneca and Madison Ave.
