Two gunmen shot a 26-year-old man multiple times outside a catering hall in Woodhaven, Queens, at around 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, June 28, according to QNS. The victim was struck in his left leg and told police he had no idea who the shooters were.
The shooting took place in front of the catering hall at 75-16 Rockaway Blvd. Both gunmen fled toward Atlantic Avenue after opening fire, QNS reported. The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center by private means and was listed in stable condition.
Officers from the 102nd Precinct are treating the attack as a random assault rather than a targeted shooting. A law enforcement source told QNS that the victim said during his initial interview that he did not know the gunmen and that there is no known relationship between them, though investigators noted that assessment could change as the investigation continues.
The NYPD released surveillance images of both suspects. One is described as having a dark complexion, shoulder-length hair, and a thin beard and mustache; he was last seen wearing an electric blue T-shirt with a matching baseball cap, black pants, and white sneakers. The second suspect has a medium complexion, short black hair, and a beard, and was wearing a beige T-shirt, according to QNS.
A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment. Crime figures in the 102nd Precinct have been climbing. Through June 28, the precinct reported 166 felony assaults in 2026, up 14.5 percent from the 145 reported at the same point in 2025, according to the NYPD’s most recent CompStat report as cited by QNS. Shooting incidents in the precinct are also up: three have been recorded so far in 2026, compared to one at the same point last year.
