NYPD Helicopter Circles Ridgewood in Early Morning Search

A low flying police helicopter disrupted Ridgewood residents’ rest in the wee hours of the morning today when a NYPD helicopter could be heard circling the neighborhood between approximately 1:00 a.m. and 1:30 a.m.. Per Citizen, NYPD was reportedly searching for a blue Infiniti Q60 with Mississippi plates that was involved in an undisclosed incident and last seen near Palmetto Street and Onderdonk Avenue. The vehicle also reportedly incurred front-end damage from crashing into a police vehicle during the pursuit.

On the Citizen crime app, users speculated the police pursuit may be connected to the mass shooting in Queens on Wednesday night, however, no connections have been established at time of publishing.

Another unverified claim was posted to the Citizen comment section, claiming that the blue Infiniti Q60 had been found abandoned in the Wyckoff Heights Medical Center parking lot on Stanhope Street. A Bushwick Daily reporter was dispatched to Wyckoff Heights and found no evidence to support this claim.

This is an evolving story and we will update the article as more information is released. It is currently believed that the individuals in the blue Infiniti Q60 have not yet been apprehended suspects in the blue Infinity are still at large.
