In the email, BerlinRosen said this year’s giving areas were “especially reflective of cuts to basic needs for New Yorkers and ensuring systems have long-term strength to continue their services.” The firm did not, in that message, name individual grantees, specify award amounts or break down how the $142 million was distributed across the foundation’s funding priorities.
The firm offered to connect reporters with the foundation or with a grantee organization to learn more about the round of giving.
