The London-based electronic record label Anjunadeep will headline a dance party at Central Park’s SummerStage on Saturday, July 18, the City Parks Foundation announced, adding another club-music night to its Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage season.
The foundation, which presents the SummerStage series, described the booking as one of several benefit shows it is rolling out for the season and said the label is “bringing their beats to Central Park” for the date. Both the artists set to perform and additional guests will be announced soon, according to the announcement.
Anjunadeep is the label founded by the British group Above & Beyond, the foundation said. According to the announcement, the imprint was founded in 2005 and is dedicated to deeper, more progressive sounds in the club and electronic music scene, with a catalogue the foundation said spans nearly 15 years and releases that range from melodic house and electronic to ambient and techno.
The label has brought artists including Lane 8, Ben Bohmer, Dusky, and Eli & Fur to wider audiences, the foundation said, and its shows have drawn crowds from Brooklyn to London. The foundation said Anjunadeep’s events have sold out across 15 countries and five continents, and it characterized the label as one of dance music’s most respected, with what it called a “friendly, welcoming, and always bumping party vibe.”
The foundation said SummerStage members and Young Patrons receive access to the benefit shows, and it is selling tickets to the Central Park date through its website. Additional details on the lineup are available at cityparksfoundation.org/events/anjunadeep/.
