In anticipation of major reconstruction projects, which will displace people living along the M train line and disrupt service for thousands more, a portion of the M train from Metropolitan Avenue to Myrtle Avenue will be closed nearly every weekend through the end of June.

The MTA will provide shuttle service between the end of the line at Metropolitan Avenue and the Myrtle-Broadway stop. Additionally, M train service will extend to Broadway Junction during the days and evenings in order to maintain the transfer to the L lost at Myrtle-Wyckoff.

Work will begin at 11:45 p.m. this Friday, March 3 and continue until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, March 6. Here are the other weekends affected: March 13-16, March 18-20, April 8-10, April 22-22, April 29-May 1, May 13-15, May 20-22, June 3-5, June 17-19, June 24-26.

After that very long and protracted process, the July construction on Fresh Pond Bridge will begin, which will require a full closure of the tracks between Myrtle-Broadway and Metropolitan Avenues for at least two months.

If it makes you feel any better, the MTA insists all of this work will help ease the stress of the impending L train shut down.
