Easter and Passover bring out cheery feelings in us. The flowers are budding, the birds are finally chirping happily. And plus, there’s the celebrations. And in part of celebrations, we know you want to have some fun this holiday weekend. Whether you’re eating a chocolate bunny, or on a mission to snatch up every Easter egg, here are your stops to celebrate these holidays in East Williamsburg, Bushwick, and Ridgewood.

Don’t have any Sedar plans? Well, look no further than Chabad of Bushwick! Chabad will be hosting two Sedars: The first on the beginning of Passover, April 3, and the second the night after, April 4. Make sure you RSVP to this, so Chabad knows how much to prepare!

This week, OLMM has a slew of cool things going on. They have a huge Good Friday procession that includes the veneration of the cross, and some people in costumes. On Saturday, the church will host their Easter vigil is and have the blessing of the bread. And as tradition, OLMM will host Easter masses on Sunday. Several masses will be held in English, Polish, and Italian.

#3 Gather Easter Eggs & Block Party @ Shwick Market (Sat/Sun 11 am-7 pm)

Shwick Market is having a family-friendly Easter Celebration and you should be a part of it. This is a two-day event, including Egg Hunts on both days, but a visit from the Easter Bunny will happen on Saturday, so get your cameras ready! A bouncy house will also be there!

#4 Compete in the 4th Annual Easter Egg Bucking Competition (Sun 1PM)

Have you ever dreamed of Easter Egg Bucking? If you don’t know what Easter Egg bucking is, check out this nifty video. Once you’re secure in your bucking abilities, head to the 4th Annual Easter Egg Bucking Competition, hosted by Jackie Cantwell. Benefits of the day: there’ll be a potluck brunch afterwards! “Church that doesn’t suck” aka Bushwick Abbey is hosting a Musical Interpretation of the Stations of the Cross (the Story of Jesus’ walk to the cross and his death) today at noon, 3, and  6pm. On Sunday they are inviting you to the church at noon for a day of celebration of Jesus’ rising from death into Joy and Life. There will be a potluck after.

#6 Easter Egg Hunt & Party @ Bushwick City Farm (SUN, noon-sundown)

The Bushwick City Farm is having an Easter Egg Hunt starting at noon. All kids are invited and they will be hunting real eggs from the farm and also plastic eggs filled with candy. Families are welcome to come out and bring stuff to grill — they will be having a cookout on the farm afterwards.
