Remember when you were little and you’d do those puzzles where you had to identify what was in the picture but it was always too zoomed in or kind of fuzzy or a weird angle to tell? (Some of us were never very good at those.) Well last week’s Insta-Takeover was exactly that – Bushwick-style. Abel Macias, a super cool Brooklyn-based mixed media artist and painter who studied at Pratt Institute and then snagged his BFA from Savannah College of Art & Design, took on a “Close & Abstract” theme for the week. The resulting photos were bright, graphic, and oh-so-fun. I can’t get over the colors, such saturated colors. Abel’s Insta-Takeover proves, once again, that the beauty is in the details…
Some of the subjects were more obvious than others (I see you, fancy books on that shelf!) but others will have you guessing. What do you see? Scroll down for some of your favorites from his time behind the lens. Not gonna lie, I had a hard time choosing because they’re all so flipping fantastic. So make sure to head over to our Instagram page to see the rest and give Abel a follow!
