This Sunday, Meryl Meisler, Bizarre Publishing and Bushwick Daily are partnering to bring you DISCO ERA NIGHTZ–a celebration of two groundbreaking Bushwick Books and closing party for the acclaimed exhibition “A Tale of Two Cities: Disco Era Bushwick.” The event is FREE and on Sunday, October 12th at 7:00 p.m. at Bizarre, 12 Jefferson St.Meryl Meisler, whose book “Disco Era Bushwick” has been featured in The New York Times, The New Yorker, and more will give a presentation about her photography influences, the Black Out of 1977 hitting Bushwick, and the spark that generated juxtaposing images of Bushwick with Studio 54 and the hottest clubs of Disco’s golden era.

The King of Bushwick: Prospero Vega will be reading in the flesh alongside myself. Our stories are from “Bushwick Nightz,” and will be a sampling of the kinds of tales found in the book.
