At least according to the data released by streaming web music service Pandora. Pandorra broke down NYC by neighborhood, and ranked which genres their listeners and subscribers choose to play in what area.
“The figures are significant because Pandora controls 78% of Internet radio, and boasts over 250 million users worldwide, ” NY Daily News reported on Tuesday.
In the neighborhoods of Bushwick and Williamsburg, other popular genres were Quinceanera and Corridos. If you were expecting Indie Rock you were damn wrong! However, Greenpoint is blaring mostly “Hair Bands,” “Hipster BBQ,” and “Hipster Cocktail Party.”
