Your Weekly Train Update: M is for Maladjusted

Your Weekly Train Update: M is for Maladjusted
The M Train at 8 a.m. on a Tuesday. RUFRIGGINKIDDINME??

I think the only thing that makes me more aggravated than technology (don’t get me started on the jammed “lock” button on my cellphone) may be the MTA subway–I am especially looking at you L and M (J train wins “Train of the Year” by default because it consistently actually shows up. If the J was a kid in the class it would be the little smartie student who gets awarded “Perfect Attendance”).

This upcoming week the L and M train are serving us a double helping of service interruptions and changes. But let’s be real – they each have minds of their owns and ultimately decide not to show up when they don’t feel like it:

First, the L train:

Feb 10-14 (Mon-Fri) from 11AM-3PM the L train will be running every 12 minutes between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avss and Rockaway Pkwy (oh gosh, it’s doing this weird thing again).

The last stop for alternate trains headed toward Rockaway Pkwy is Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs.

Take a Canarsie-bound L train or transfer at Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs. to continue your trip.

Second, the M (is for maladjusted because M when will you realize people would like to leave Brooklyn on the weekends/nights?!) train:

Your Weekly Train Update: M is for Maladjusted

Feb 10-13 (Mon-Thurs) after 10PM service will end early between Myrtle Av. and 71 Av (aka 71 Av in not-Ridgewood-Queens, aka the M train is getting us practically nowhere these nights)

Service will only operate between Myrtle Av. and Metropolitan Av (cue to me throwing stuff).

If you want to get real fancy, you can use these little M train service cheat sheets to figure out when you should start bolting for that last train out:

So here you go – the confusing, often aggravating, L and M service changes for this upcoming week. Check mta.info for any last minute changes and, as always, Happy Riding!
