Arts in Bushwick’s Community Team, headed by co-team leaders Lauren Smith and Megan Trevino, is partnering with the Coalition for Hispanic Family Services, the Beacon Center for Arts and Leadership and professional muralist and Bushwick resident, Miriam Castillo to develop a public mural project for junior high I.S. 291 students in Bushwick. The mural will be created in the newly established OKO farm space at the Moore Street Retail Market (La Marqueta de Williamsburg) and will be unveiled and celebrated June 1st, 2013 during Bushwick Open Studios. Project materials were generously donated  from Materials for the Arts and Home Depot.

Also, Moore Street Market has announced their weekend indoor flea market every Saturday and Sunday from 10AM to 4PM located on 110 Moore St., where anyone has the chance to sell their goods for only a $10 space/table fee. So if you have been looking for a place to sell your homemade jewelry or vintage clothing collection but cannot afford the (usually) high fees of other markets, then look no more! The process is super easy and can even be done the day of the market. For additional information and details please contact Joan at jgbATbedc.org or give her a call at (718)368-6781.
