Den-Mate kicks off her fall tour with a very special performance at Alphaville this Wednesday night. The singer-songwriter, who released her colorful debut album Loceke last year, recently remarked on Facebook that she’s in a “full creative blast,” so don’t be surprised if you hear some new songs. Also performing are Anna Altman, an excellent three-piece with no members named Anna Altman, and Snakeskin, the thunderous project of songwriter Shanna Polley.

Thursday, Sept. 12

The Appleseed Cast, Muscle Worship at Market Hotel, 8 p.m.

Emo legends The Appleseed Cast are performing at Market Hotel on Thursday night in support of their latest record, The Fleeting Light of Impermanence, their first in almost six years. The Kansas City foursome are still churning out highly evocative and ambient sounding tunes, and they’ll have their tour mates Muscle Worship in tow, who play an angular style of post-punk. Opening the show are dreamy local favorites Peel Dream Magazine.

Friday, Sept. 13

Bethlehem Steel, Sharkmuffin, Cat Cohen at Trans-Pecos, 8 p.m.

Bethlehem Steel are releasing their highly anticipated second album on Friday, and they’ll be celebrating with an official release show that night at Trans-Pecos. The band alfresco shared three dark, grunge-y singles that provide a nice sampling of what to expect, “Gov’t Cheese,” “Bad Girl,” and “Empty Room.” Joining in on the festivities are Sharkmuffin, who released their excellent sci-fi concept EP Gamma Gardening earlier this year, and comedian/cabaret performer Cat Cohen.

Saturday, Sept. 14

Save The Footlight: A Night Of Music, Comedy, Occult, and Community at The Footlight, 7 p.m.

The beloved Footlight Bar in Ridgewood needs your help! The venue, which was selected as the favorite for live music among Bushwick Daily readers in 2018, is currently dealing with a financial hardship stemming from issues with their landlord. All proceeds from Saturday night’s event benefit The Footlight, so come out and enjoy music from Kissed By An Animal, Razor Braids, Jeremy Willie Cox, Jesse Quattro, and eüsh. The event also features comedy, DJ sets, and occult ceremonies!
