Do you love karaoke? Sure you do. Everyone loves karaoke, whether they know it yet or not. But if you do happen to be one of those karaoke-skeptics, just you wait and see: The Kings of Karaoke will convert you in no time.

Unfamiliar with Kings of Karaoke? Well, they’re exactly what their name implies: karaoke gods and Brooklyn royalty, having proudly served the Bushwick community with free karaoke since 2001 — a blessed deed for which I’m incredibly grateful. (See below. That’s me LIVING.)

The Kings, like Brooklyn, are a community of artists, working as comics, musicians and writers by day, hosts and DJs by karaoke-night. And despite their rough exterior, these karaoke-loving-creatives have only one goal: for you to have a great time, promoting positivity, respect and inclusivity while they’re at it.

You see, I’ve karaoked all over the world, and no other karaoke comes close to what the Kings provide. Their song selection is up-to-date and impeccable, with singers performing tunes from Broadway to Tupac to Britney Spears. And unlike some others, The Kings keep their parties singer-centric, encouraging everyone to participate and steadily supporting the singer on stage no matter the genre. From Little Mermaid’s “Part of Your World” to Marilyn Manson’s “Sweet Dreams,” all songs are equally applauded with genuine passion and fervor.

Have I convinced you yet? Have I scared you away? Either way: You’ve got to experience the Kings for yourself. So here’s a list of the best Kings of Karaoke nights in Bushwick. Do with it what you will; you can thank me later.

Sundays at Tilt from 10 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Mondays  at Syndicated from 10 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Tuesdays at Pine Box Rock Shop from 10 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Happy singing!
