As the temperature continues to drop, some of our neighbors in and around Bushwick will be in need of coats to keep them warm this winter. 

The good news is, there are a few local organizations very invested in helping. Below is a list of the local drop-off locations where you can donate gently used coats. And if you don’t have time or are away for the holidays, you can donate $25 to provide coats and meals to those in need. 

Also, if you are someone in need of a coat, many of the locations listed below are committed to handing out coats to those who need them. All places with “Walk in site? Yes.” listed in the details will hand out coats. However, it is always recommended that you call beforehand to make sure that they currently have a coat available in your size.

This is not a comprehensive list. Most of the organizations listed below are a part of the New York Cares Coat Drive. If you know of another local place accepting and/or handing out coats to those in need, please comment it in the comment section below.
