Snarf up some cruelty-free goodness at a vegan food fest and fundraiser this weekend in Bushwick.
On Sunday the (Plant-Powered) Vegan Food Fest Fundraiser (VFFF) is happening at Mayday Space, a community organizing center located at 176 St. Nicholas Ave. The event is a virtually exhaustive compendium of all things vegan: four hours of talks, conversations, food demos, food tastings, shopping, raffles, silent auctions, and more.
The best part, which vegans and non-vegans alike will be able to support, is that all proceeds raised by the VFFF will be going to the Catskill Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit farm animal rescue in Saugerties, NY.
Special guest Marc Wood, a triathlete and coach focusing on a whole food and plant-based lifestyle, will demo his black bean mango salad and guide the rest of the events all day.
Guests include certified plant-based nutritionist Leah Negrin, vegan comedian and doctor Russ L’HommeDieu, and dozens of other enthusiasts.
Aside from a wealth of special guests, VFFF will host a DJ, recipe and meal prep demonstrations, and over 20 vegan and cruelty-free vendors. Kids aged 16 and under get in free and can enjoy special activities, such as face-painting, planned just for them.
Tickets to VFFF are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Vegans, come to spend time with the community, and stock up on snacks and goods. Non-vegans, come to try some food, talk to some vegans, and see if now isn’t the time to make the switch.
