For the Next Three Weeks, Bushwick is Without Weeknight L Service

Bad news for anyone who needs the L train late on weeknights: starting today and lasting through Friday, August 19th, L train service between Lorimer Street and Broadway Junction will be supplanted by free shuttle bus service overnight while work is done below ground.

12 L train stops total— Lorimer Street, Graham Avenue, Grand Street, Montrose Avenue, Morgan Avenue, Jefferson Street, DeKalb Avenue, Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues, Halsey Street, Wilson Avenue, Bushwick Avenue—Aberdeen Street and Broadway Junction—will all be out of commission between 10:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. from Monday through Friday this week and two weeks after.

Taking advantage of travel alternatives such as the G, M, J and A trains and planning additional travel time during the late evenings should be a good exercise in preparing for the coming Lpocalypse—does that count as a silver lining?
