New Home-Made Pasta Restaurant, Faro, to Open in Bushwick

If you miss pasta Sundays at your grandmother's, or if you just simply appreciate some homemade manicotti, then Faro will be the place for you

If you miss pasta Sundays at your grandmother's, or if you just simply appreciate some homemade manicotti, then Faro will be the place for you. Especially after the Pasta Shop on Starr Street (opened  in July 2014) shuttered its doors without further explanation.

Kevin and Debbie Adey, owners of the upcoming Bushwick restaurant, Faro, have been involved with food for quite some time now - Kevin, long term Northeast Kingdom chef,  has been a part of seven different restaurant openings and has been in the business for over 20 years.  They hope to combine their experience and love of food to create a great comfortable, affordable neighborhood restaurant for the Bushwick community, a place where they have also been living and working in for the last 4 years.

Faro's menu will focus on house made pastas and locally sourced ingredients - all meats, seafood and dairy will be organic and provided by local farmers the Adeys already have established relationships with. "We've developed a relationship with them over the last five years," Kevin explains in their Kickstarter video. "We definitely know exactly where everything is coming from and are very proud to be serving it." In addition to their food, the bar will have seasonal cocktails and eclectic wine list, among many more options.

To help overcome the last hurdle involved with opening up a new restaurant, Kevin and Debbie have started a Kickstarter campaign with the goal of $10,000 (so far they have raised only $50). Faro will open later this month, no exact date has yet been given, but in the meantime you can follow their Instagram to see their progress.
