The L train is shutting down which means transportation for some in North Brooklyn is going to become… tricky.

Some commuters will have to use other train lines, others will probably start taking buses a lot more and relying on other train lines. Or maybe even taking this luxury L train van service as well (if they can afford it). 

And we all know that CITI Bike is an option but do we really want to deal with all that noise and competition when trying to get to work in the morning? Everyone is moody and everyone hates the MTA so why not bike to work in style? Check out these 6 shops to solve all your transportation troubles in 2019: 


Haven Cycles

1546 Dekalb Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11237

Haven Cycles is a Bushwick Bike Shop that offers repairs, bike rentals, and sells used bikes at responsible prices. They also offer custom bike building and a test ride option for only $30.

Prices range between $10-$150 for various services. They are open everyday from 11am-7pm.


 Bushwick Bicycle Shop Inc.

308 Irving Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11237

Bushwick Bicycle Shop Inc. offers bike rentals, repairs, and they even sell accessories like helmets, locks, and locks too! Rentals are super affordable! $6 an hour, $30 dollars a day and $40 overnight.

They are open Mon-Sat: 9:30am - 7:00pm and Sun: 9:30am - 5:30pm.


Brooklyn Bike Peddler

145 Nassau St. Brooklyn, NY 11211

Brooklyn Bike Peddler is a small full service bicycle shop offering new, used & vintage bikes for sale, plus parts, rentals and tune-ups.

Tune ups range between $60-$120. They are open Monday-Friday 10am-6pm & Saturday 12pm-7pm & Sunday 12pm-5pm.


Sun and Air

Sun and Air is both a bicycle repair shop and coffee shop. They offer a wide range of repairs between $65-$255. New bike tune Ups at 30 Days are free and new bike tune ups after 90 Days are half off! Check out their services and prices HERE.

The Cafe features a variety of snacks teas, coffee and an impressive espresso bar including pre packaged drinks to take on the road with you as you bike into the city! If you buy a bag of whole bean coffee you get a free espresso.

They are open Monday-Friday 8am-8pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am-6pm.


Bicycle Station

Bicycle Station is a repair bike shop founded by veteran racer and mechanic Mike Rodriguez. This shop offers full Service Repairs & Custom Builds & Conversions! They also offer vintage repairs as well.

All tune-ups are $49 (parts not included) They are open Tuesday-Friday 11am-7pm, Saturday 10am-7pm, and Sunday 11am-4pm.


Graham Bicycle Discount Center

Graham Bicycle Discount Center is an affordable shop offering a variety of bicycles for adults & kids, with parts, accessories, service options and a quick turn around! Prices rice between $10-$50! They are open seven days a week 11am-6pm.
