Four Bushwick and Ridgewood Restaurants Reach Michelin's Bib Gourmand Status

We know and you know that Bushwick and Ridgewood are incredible dining hubs and full of food from all over the world.

Last week, Michelin, an international dining guide, released its 2018 Bib Gourmand list, which features restaurants they serve high quality food while making it possible to order two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less, excluding tax and tip.

129 New York City restaurants made the list and 4 are local favorites. In a reflection of the city’s diversity, 50 cuisines will be featured in the New York Michelin Guide, which will be released November 6th.

Here’s Who Made The Cut:

Houdini Kitchen Laboratory

1563 Decatur St, Ridgewood, NY 11385 (off the L Train at Myrtle-Wyckoff )

New to the list is Houdini Kitchen Laboratory in Ridgewood, included in recognition of its pizzas and fresh pastas, like ricotta and spinach ravioli. Located in a former brewery turned factory, the kitchen makes thin and crisp Italian style pizzas in a huge wood burning oven.

Roberta's

261 Moore St, Brooklyn, NY 11206 (off the L Train at Morgan)

Roberta’s, a veteran of the list, is internationally recognized for its pizzas like the Bee Sting, topped with combines honey, Soppressata, and chili. Besides its pizzas, Robertas has a thriving bar, a bakery, and a very impressive brunch.

Falanasai

112 Harrison Pl, Brooklyn, NY 11237 (off L Train at Morgan Ave)

Falanasai is a Vietnamese restaurant with French and Chinese influences. Their menu includes brunch, many types of pho, and seasonal specialties, inspired by Chef Henry Trieu’s father’s memories of the country.

Bunker

99 Scott Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11237 (off the L Train at Jefferson)

Bunker focuses on Vietnamese Street food, made with the best ingredients. They recently reopened in a larger space in Bushwick that’s always packed thanks to their great drinks and addictive banh mi.

The Michelin Stars, which feature higher end restaurants, will be released this week.
