Need some support for navigating North Brooklyn via bicycle, consider attending a weekly group ride with Transportation Alternatives.

The weekly “Bike Train” aims to coordinate group rides for residents who want options outside of the MTA for getting around the city.

For this week’s ride, bikers will meet at Myrtle Wyckoff Plaza next to the Myrtle Avenue-Wyckoff Avenue stop of the L train at 7:30 a.m. and then ride to to Sun and Air Bike Shop at 788 Driggs in Williamsburg.

Riders will hear an update on the L-pocalypse, learn more about TransAlt North Brooklyn’s safe-streets projects and grab a free cup of Variety Coffee Roasters.

An added perk for this week’s ride is a raffle for a special prize. Any nascent bike riders will also get to meet other avid bikers who can give tips for navigating Brooklyn once the L train shuts down
