Get a Taste of the Neighborhood’s Industrial History at The Factory’s Grand Opening

Wyckoff Avenue has become prime real estate for Bushwick’s burgeoning bar scene. The Factory is the bustling avenue’s newest addition; the new bar is gearing up for its grand opening this weekend.

Nestled just east of the Myrtle/Wyckoff train stop, one might walk right past The Factory’s unassuming facade (the entrance is actually on Madison street, not Wyckoff) if not for its bright chalkboard marquee, promising cocktails and an enticing happy hour.

When you enter The Factory’s large industrial double-doors, you’ll be dazzled by its rustic charm. The bar’s old-world appeal doesn’t happen by accident. According to The Factory’s manager, Rina Samson, the theme was inspired by a vintage photo that was representative of quintessential 1940s Brooklyn. “We’re trying to preserve the history of Bushwick,” Samson told Bushwick Daily. “This building was a factory at some point in the 40s, and we wanted to use decor from the same year the building was built.”

Despite the tasteful historical decor, The Factory’s menu and cocktail list is anything but old school. Samson says the menu can be described as “New American Asian Fusion.” And with items like bacon apple dumplings, salmon & veggies, and a fruit-heavy “Factory Salad,” the food at The Factory is anything but boring.

Additionally, The Factory’s cocktail list is just as intriguing at the food options; come sample variations of the classic Tom Collins cocktail (Citrus Tom, Berry Tom and the Green Tom) that would make Don Draper blush. Then try other modern twists to classic drinks like Old Fashioneds, Negronis, and Whiskey Sours.

The Factory’s grand opening is this Friday, April 21, from 4 p.m. – 2 a.m. at 1612 Madison St. Come for the food and drinks, stay for the ambiance. The Factory is already set to be an instant neighborhood fave.
