Rejoice Mexican and Mexican-American artists of Bushwick. Méxtasis, a platform that celebrates and showcases work by Mexican artists is looking for new submissions.

The platform held its’ first event in the area back in 2016 and even participated in Bushwick Open Studios. And since it was successful, they’re back and in need of new art submissions for an upcoming show this September at #OLIVIEPONCE Space at 10 Cypress Avenue in Brooklyn.

Accepted art will also be a part of Bushwick Open Studios 2018

A press release sent over by a representative at Méxtasis states:

“The project fosters multiple perspectives on the cultural and artistic practices connected to Mexico and responds to the international image of a country that has been manipulated by a spectrum of political and media agendas—with its cultures and histories often fading in the background of partisan rhetoric. Méxtasis wants to testify to the artistic and cultural ecstasies of México.

Triggered by the positive response from artists and the public alike to the first edition, presented in 2016 under the title Mèxtasis – Primer Capítulo: Se Habla Arte Mexicano, the project returns as a biennial open call and exhibition led in 2018 by an international jury of art professionals.”
