Independent Horror Films Come to Bushwick This October

The first Brooklyn Horror Fest will terrify and surprise fans of the autumnal genre.

Temperatures haven't dropped yet, but we're already in a Halloween mood. Get yourself in the spirit of your favorite dress up holiday with the Brooklyn Horror Fest set to hit Brooklyn venues including Bushwick's Syndicated and Catland Books on October 14-16.

The three day festival will feature an international selection of brand new horror. The opening night film, "Dearest Sister," is only the 13th film produced by Laos in its long history, and the film directed by Laos' only female filmmaker to boot.

The closing night film, "Child Eater," will have its world premier at Syndicated and promises frights in the form of a cannibal type monster that must eat children to sustain its own life.

Other Brooklyn venues include The Wythe Hotel, Videology, Muriel Schulman Theater at Triskelion Arts, Spectacle Theater, and Throne Watches. And be on the look out for a special Brooklyn filmmakers showcase, too.

The festival organizers promise to "show nothing short of the best in independent horror."

Individual tickets go on sale on September 13 and range between $10-$18.
