Tiny Arts Supply has moved to a Ridgewood storefront roughly five times the size of its former location, reopening at 612 Woodward Avenue on April 1 to coincide with its fifth anniversary, founder Vanessa America announced to the shop’s mailing list.
The art-supply store said it relocated from its longtime corner near Catalpa Avenue in Ridgewood to the new space between Linden and Grove streets, a move of about seven blocks that keeps it in the same neighborhood. According to property records, the new address sits at Woodward and Linden in Ridgewood (ZIP 11385). America told Grime Square the old spot was only 240 square feet and the new one is 1,200. “Tiny Arts Supply won’t be so tiny anymore,” America wrote, adding that while she would “dearly miss our sweet corner in Ridgewood and all of our amazing neighbors,” she was “so happy to be expanding only 7 blocks away.”
The store closed its old doors on the evening of Saturday, March 7, and reopened at 612 Woodward on April 1, a date the shop noted fell on April Fools’ Day but said was not a joke. The reopening also marked the business’s five-year anniversary; Tiny Arts Supply had its soft opening on April 1, 2021, at 58-42A Catalpa Ave. in Ridgewood.
With the larger footprint, the shop said customers can expect more supplies and expanded programming, including daytime gatherings, adult classes, kids activities, and private workshops and parties. The store said its programming continued during the roughly three-week break it took to complete the move.
Tiny Arts Supply said it held a grand reopening and anniversary party at the new space on Friday, April 3, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The announcement was circulated through the store’s email list in early March and drew congratulatory replies from recipients.
