The Tallichet Freedman Foundation has awarded its fall 2025 microgrants to 10 artists, the foundation announced, selecting the cohort from more than 200 applications it said it received for the round.
The named grantees are Ricardo Aca, Bambi Alder, Courtney Childress, Vyczie Dorado, Dr. Evilletown, Cary Hulbert, Genesiss Mejia, Andrea Moreno, Barb Smith and Lu Yim, according to the foundation. The announcement paired each artist with a representative work, spanning digital photography, oil and acrylic painting, needle-felted wool, pastel and graphite on paper, sculpture in chain-link fence and marble, and performance.
Among the works the foundation cited were Aca’s 2015 digital photograph “My Original Dreamer,” Alder’s 2024 oil-on-panel “Sleepless,” Childress’ 2024 needle-felted “Untitled (Separate),” Dorado’s 2023 mixed-media “Dried out,” Moreno’s 2025 chain-link-fence, yarn and magnet piece “Cada grado,” and Smith’s 2025 Creme Rosado marble sculpture “Figure (follows) Figure (from).” The foundation also referenced Lu Yim’s “금마타리 (Infinite Love),” which it dated to an April–May 2025 presentation at A.I.R. Gallery in Brooklyn, in an image featuring performer Stine An and credited to photographer Rachel Papo.
The foundation said it was “grateful to be in community with these artists and honored to support their work.” It said it is filming studio visits with the grantees and expects to share them in late spring, describing the visits as “a closer look at the artists, their practices, and the work being made in our community.”
The foundation said the more than 200 applications it received for 10 microgrants left it “both grateful and encouraged by this response,” and it signaled its intent to continue the program in support of artists. Further details on the foundation’s grantmaking are available on its website.
