Bushwick and Brooklyn in general are no strangers to films and television shows being shot on our blocks, and yet, it’s still a thrill to see those neon signs telling us that another project will set up shop for a day our two in the neighborhood, gripes about lost parking aside.

Last week, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” an Amazon original about a 1950s Jewish housewife who discovers a knack for stand-up comedy after her husband leaves her shot some scenes around Bogart and Varet streets over the course of several days.

The show, created by Amy Sherman-Palladino of “Gilmore Girls” and “Bunheads” fame stars Rachel Brosnahan of “House of Cards.” It was also a recipient of a rare two-season order after the pilot premiered on Amazon Prime in March 2017, which means we at least won’t ever get a season one cliffhanger that never gets resolved.

You can expect the kind of irreverent humor that made “Gilmore Girls” such a memorable show, and given the time it’s set in and the subject matter, “Mrs. Maisel” will likely address issues of gender equality that still plague the comedy world to this day.

A release date for the rest of the season, though, has not been set.
