House of Yes is Hosting a Fundraiser to Help Save Fellow Bushwick Circus The Muse

Beloved local circus training facility and performance space The Muse found itself in dire straits the week before last–and other beloved local circus space House of Yes has rushed to The Muse’s aid in full force, pulling out all the stops to plan a benefit performance that will take place at House of Yes this coming Wednesday, August 24.

Other institutions that provide such niche services in close proximity might quietly let a competitor befall a fate that could close their doors, but in a heartfelt statement in House of Yes’ invitation to the event, organizers call The Muse “an invaluable resource to the circus and performance arts community in New York City.”

The organizers have scrambled to assemble the neighborhood’s best talent to create a killer lineup to support its fellow arts space. Performers already booked for the event include acts from The Muse and House of Yes’ all-star circus heroes, The Great Throwdini, Angela Butch and Yoni.

The evening will feature three acts, followed by a dance party. Doors will open at 7p.m. The event kicks off 8 p.m. and is scheduled to run until 10:30 p.m.Tickets for the event are available in advance on Eventbrite and start at $15 (the highest bracket is $100, though the event page also links to a fundraising page for The Muse).

“If these guys lose their space, the circus and performance arts scene as a whole will suffer greatly,” says House of Yes.

As if you needed convincing. Turn out and help your neighbors help your neighbors, Bushwick!
