Things are getting really weird: Trump is the frontrunner of a major political party and it’s 73 degrees in March. 73. Degrees. But despite all that, you can still choose what shows to hit up this weekend! Check out this dizzying lineup of cymbals, synths and arcade games to escape these super confusing times. It won’t save us, but it will distract us. Yay temporary solutions!

#10 Big Mean Sound Machine, West End Blend @ Knitting Factory (SAT 7PM,$15, at 361 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn)

Feel like falling into a twisted level of Mario Kart? This 13 piece acid jazz/psych fusion unit has you covered. Funky horns and slick base lines hark back to the slightly trippy, happy go lucky vibes of the technicolor video game.

#9 Dub Stuy Records Presents Echo Chamber VIII feat. Radikal Guru, Numa Crew, Digikiller @ Paper Box (FRI 9PM, $20 at 17 Meadow St, Brooklyn)

Polish dub master Radikal Guru and the Italian Numa Crew headline this sick showcase at the reliably fun Paper Box Friday night. Plan to stick around all night.

#8 Bambara, Junk Boys, Ritual Humor @ Union Pool (THUR 8PM, $8 at484 Union Ave, Brooklyn)

Bambara is a dark Brooklyn drone band, but combined with Junk Boys’ upbeat surf rock, this is a solid yin-yang lineup.

#7 Shearwater @  Bell House (SAT 9PM, $15 at 149 7th St, Brooklyn)

Shearwater’s back at it again, touring to support another well received album off Sub Pop, which is best described as a sort of alt-rock, new wave amalgamation (think neon spandex paired with flannel).

#6 Fried Egg , Stuck Pigs, Schiavi, Kaleidoscope @ Alphaville (FRI 8pm, $8 140 Wilson Ave, Brooklyn)

This obscure punk show at Alphaville promises to be a good time. The bands are all pretty rad, and it’ll be very loud and sweaty.

#5 DJ Richard, Essaie Pas, Sadaf at Trans-Pecos @ Trans Pecos (FRI 11:55PM, $13 at 915 Wyckoff Ave, Ridgewood)

DJ Richard is spinning ambient electronic dance music that’s perfect for a late night of compromised inhibition and sweat drenched hair. The simple beats and synths are definite crowd pleasers which still evoke partying on a very trendy spaceship.

#4 Kneedelus: A Live Collaboration between Kneebody + Daedelus w/ Cuddle Magic @ Le Poisson Rogue (SAT 7PM, $17 at 158 Bleecker St, New York)

The experimental electronics of Daedelus combined with the prophetic jazz chops of Kneebody is seriously genius.

#3 The Mystery Lights, Surfbort, Shark Week, Breanna Barbara @ Palisades (THUR 8PM, $8 at 906 Broadway, Brooklyn)

Catch some gratifying garage rock and grrrl punk at this dark, shell of a venue.

#2: Death by Audio Arcade Art Opening @ Flowers For All Occasions (This Friday thru – APR 8th at 1114 Dekalb Ave, Brooklyn)

The beloved indie arcade games formerly on offer at now-closed Williamsburg DIY mecca Death By Audio (RIP) are coming to Flowers For All Occasions. Resurrections never felt so sick. Grab a drink and play the newest game, Star Versus, along with seven other vintage games, each in their own unique cabinets. It’s sure to be a religious experience.

#1- Cut Chemist, DJ Shiftee, DJ Amir @ Output (FRI 10PM, $20-30 at 74 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn)

Some shows don’t need words. Literally. Cut Chemist’s is one of them. Let the cinematic samples and full bodied beats crash over you. Dance. Sweat. Sway. Do whatever the hell you want.

Have a great weekend, Bushwick! We’ll see you out and about.
